Longmeadow's Scyocurka Claims Angelo Bertelli Award

Alex Scyocurka, a recording breaking running back at Longmeadow High School in Springfield, Mass., has been named the 2009 winner of Angelo Bertelli Award, bestowed by the NFF Western Massachusetts Chapter to the region’s most outstanding high school football player.

Scyocurka will be honored at the chapter’s April 5 scholar-athlete banquet. Scyocurka rushed for 4,834 yards in his three-year varsity career. He will attend a New England prep school in the fall before applying to college.
