For the past 10 years the Vermont Chapter has been actively involved with amateur football in Vermont. Each year they have expanded their mission and have served the players and coaches of the Green Mountain State very well. The annual scholar-athlete dinner is held in May at Middlebury College. Eight scholar-athletes are recognized and $3000 in scholarships is distributed. Special awards are also given to deserving coaches and public servants. The chapter sponsors a North-South All-Star Football Game at the conclusion of the fall season at Middlebury College. This game helps determine who will be selected for the annual Shriner’s Game between Vermont and New Hampshire. A golf tournament is held in May to support the chapter’s scholarship fund. In June the chapter sponsors an NFL-NFF Coaching Academy for the benefit of the state’s youth football coaches. A Play It Smart program is currently running at Winooski High School.
