Member Biography

One of the finest wide receivers in Division III history, Bill Stromberg set six national and 13 school records. Already a member of his school's Hall of Fame, Bill becomes the first Blue Jay to enter the College Football Hall of Fame. In 1980, and again the following year, Stromberg led the nation in receiving and was a first team All-America. He was also the Most Valuable Player in the Middle Atlantic Conference. His total of 258 career receptions was an NCAA record until 1993, and his 3,776 career reception yards was a record until 1989. His 39 touchdown catches was also an NCAA record as were his figures for catches and yards per game. During his career Bill had 19 games where he exceeded 100 receiving yards. He was also an outstanding baseball player, setting school records for runs scored and stolen bases. Stromberg was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles and was the final receiver cut prior to the 1982 season. He then went to Dartmouth to earn his MBA prior to entering the business world.
