Pierce Holt excelled on the football field and in the classroom for Angelo State, a school located in San Angelo, Texas, and a member of the Lone Star Conference. His list of football honors goes like this: - Four-year starter at defensive tackle, 1984-1987 - Three-time all-conference - Two-time Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Year - Two-time All-America. When it came to scholastic honors, here's the list: - Two-time Academic All-Conference - Two-time GTE/Cosida All-America One more honor came his way. He was named the conference's Defensive Player of the Decade for the 1980's. He played eight years with San Francisco and Atlanta in the National Football League, was on two Super Bowl winners, and became a rancher in Christoval, Texas.
