Member BiographyJim LeClair had a banner year in 1971. He made the
Little All-America team picked by the Associated
Press and the College Division All-America picked
by the American Football Coaches Association.
He was a linebacker who covered a wide territory.
He was credited with 187 tackles, three
interceptions, four fumble recoveries, 11 forced
fumbles, and 20 tackles for loss. His school,
North Dakota, won the North Central Conference
championship. LeClair was named the conference
Most Valuable Player.
LeClair played 12 years in the National Football
League with the Cincinnati Bengals 1972-83 and
two years in the U.S. Football League with the
New Jersey Generals 1984-85.
He was head football coach at Mayville State
in 1986-88. Following that he operated an insurance
agency in Mayville, North Dakota.
