Member Biography
Rick Redman stood 5-11 in height, weighed 215 pounds, and
was listed at guard in the Washington lineup for three years,
1962-64. He was one of the most versatile linemen ever to
play the game. He worked at linebacker on defense, and he
did the team's punting. In 30 games over three years he had
134 punts, and the average distance was 38 yards. Redman
was named all-conference guard three times, All-American
guard twice, and Academic All-American once. He graduated
with a degree in business. In his junior year, 1963,
Washington opened the season with three straight losses.
Then the team won six of the last seven, was conference
champion, and earned a trip to the Rose Bowl. Redman
followed his college career with nine seasons with the San
Diego Chargers. He went into the construction business in
Seattle.
