Member Biography
Jon Arnett did everything. In 1954 he led the Southern
California team in rushing, scoring, pass interceptions,
punting, and place kicks. In 1955 he again was tops in
most categories. He scored 108 points-15 touchdowns
and 18 extra points. In 1956 he averaged 6.3 yards per
rush. His career stats showed an average of 24.4 yards
on kickoff returns, 15.6 on punt returns. He made All-
Pacific 8 Conference in 1955-56 and All-America in 1955.
He won the Voit Trophy as best player on the Pacific
Coast in 1955-56. Arnett was on the track team. In
1954 he placed second in the long jump at the NCAA meet,
helping USC win the team title. In his playing days
Arnett was listed at 5-11 in height, 197 in weight.
He played pro with the Los Angles Rams 1957-63 and
Chicago Bears 1964-66. He followed that with 32 years
as a real estate developer and stockbroker. Arnett was
born April 30, 1934, in Los Angeles. He attended Manual
Arts High School.
